The Highest Highs of High School
November 30, 2009 by Myer Thompson

High school, for most people, was a complete and total drag. It wasn’t fun or fabulous or even musical. That’s why we’re all suckers for a great high school movie. It’s a genre for a reason. It boils down the society we live in to a microcosm we can scrutinize. The class structure, the networking, the in-crowd — it’s all about living and loving and losing in 21st Century America.
We tended to keep our heads down and eyes on the prize of getting out. Those who enjoyed those four years were the same people who enjoyed being “cool” or “hip.” It’s like our everyday world. For most of us — that is, 90% of the population — we just get by. For the 10% at the top, life is a complete joy filled with great clothes, great looks, and great times.
So, when we get a chance to vicariously relive our restless youth, we jump at it. Show me the worst high school movie, and I’ll show you a film that will make most people stop what they’re doing and watch as the nerd finally lands the beauty queen or the bully gets beaten up. I don’t care how bad the film is — if it promises to flip the reality of high school on its head, it’ll play — and play big.
That’s how a film like HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL can become the phenomenon it’s become. It plays against type, brings together people from different economic and social classes, and then slathers on the music. We’re all suckers for high school movies — but we’re also suckers for a jazzy musical. Blend the two and look out!
It was a watershed moment — broadcast on television no less! It was the only movie that did so well as a made-for-TV movie that it spawned a theatrical sequel. What franchise does that? Well, there is the X-FILES, I suppose. But, like the adventures of Moulder and Scully, the triumphs of Troy and Gabriella are hard to resist and infinitely watchable.
Relive your dorky days, only better and without the bullying, with HIGH SCHOOL MOVIE.

4 Interesting Ways to Overcome Twilight Party Disasters
November 30, 2009 by Andrea McClure
This month many Twilight fans will be looking forward to the sequel of the popular Twilight movie. It is called New Moon and is the second film adaptation of the popular vampire novel series by Stephenie Meyers. One way that fans will show their excitement is by planning original and unique Twilight parties. This is something that was inspired by the Twilight Proms sponsored by Stephenie Meyers. However even a Twilight party is vulnerable to disasters. It can be anything from not getting the right venue to not having the DJ you hired come on time. Here are some tips to help you in case the unexpected happens at your event.
Be prepared for anything. This is the cardinal rule for whenever you plan an event. You can’t count on everything going perfectly so have a couple of back up plans just in case. For example you should know that food and drinks are something that you should have in abundance. So look at your list of guests and make sure to by above what you need. This will help you prepare for extra hungry guests or uninvited party crashers. Also talk to neighbors so they know about your party and can help out if needed.
So you are at your party and the DJ doesn’t show up. This can be a major crisis as it is likely to be one of the main sources of entertainment and help set the mood for the party. The simple solution is to use your IPod or Computer as your own digital DJ. If you have a MP3 dock or audio connections on your player you can connect your player to the home sounds system and have instant music. If you don’t have speakers you can always by an affordable pair at Wal-Mart for about $40. So this should take care of your music problem. Also be sure to include tunes from the Twilight soundtrack.
What happens when you have more guests than you anticipated? If you are having the party at your home you know that the likelihood that the police will stop by has sharply increased. In this case a good idea is to go to your neighbors and ask for help. If you were prepared you already talked to them and let them know that you were having a party and you might need some help with controlling it. Either way some outside help can be useful in maintaining order. Also look to some reliable friends. Invite them to help out or call them if you are really in a pinch.
A party planner’s worst nightmare is a party that becomes boring or slow. Try to shake things up with fun activities and music to get everyone up moving and having a good time. Try to give yourself room to be spontaneous and original with your entertainment and games. This will help to liven up the atmosphere.
In the end disasters happen but if you have a game plan in place you can keep problems small and if things get bad, you will have a plan of action to resolve it. This will make it easier for you to handle crises and roll with the punches. That way you can still have a pretty decent party that all your guests will enjoy.

Laws of Attraction: N.Y.C. divorce attorney Moore has never lost a case but meets her match in cunning adversary Brosnan, who additionally manages to get her to let her guard down. Cast includes Pierce Brosnan, Julianne Moore, Frances Fisher, Parker Posey, Michael Sheen, Nora Dunn, and David Kelly. (90 minutes, 2004)

Cast includes Nicole Garcia, Bernard Giraudeau, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Ludivine Sagnier, Robinson Steveniu, Julie Depardieu, Yves Jacques, and Michel Piccoli. (104 minutes, 2003)
The Little Thief: So-so personality picture of the title lass, a disassociated, amoral adolescent floating through life in postwar France. If she comes off as a girl Antoine Doinel, it’s since the original tale was co-written by Francois Truffuut, who was allegedly preparing to film this at the time of his demise. Cast includes Charlotte Gainsbourg, Didier Bezace, Simon de la Brosse, Nathalie Cardone, and Raoul Billerey. (104 minutes,’89)
Cuban Rebel Girls: This is Flynn’s last film, and is an embarrassment. Playing himself, he assists Fidel Castro in his overthrow of Batista. The film is filmed on location throughout the Castro rebellion. Of interest only to see Flynn teamed with his very last lady friend, sixteen-year-old Aadland. Cast includes Errol Flynn, Beverly Aadland, John McKay, and Marie Edmund. (68 minutes,’59)
Rambo: Much better than part II, this one continues to be firmly footed in the genre of mindless action films, as our brawny idol goes behind Russian battle lines in Afghanistan to save his buddy from a prison fortress. You will see lots of eruptions to keep the action going and some funny stuff thrown in too. Cast includes Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna, Marc de Jonge, Kurtwood Smith, Spiros Focas, and Sasson Gabai. (101 minutes,’88)
Representative Cody Banks: A geeky, shy fifteen year old (Muniz) who is secretly a junior spy for the CIA is designated to befriend the cute daughter of a scientist building a secret weapon for a wicked organization. This fun filled, big spoof mix of Bond, Spy Kids, and Men in Black as an adolescent boy’s fantasy materializes. It is bundled with hot babes, cool automobiles, intense games action, and high tech devices galore. Cast includes Frankie Muniz, Hilary Duff, Angie Harmon, Keith David, Ian McShane, Arnold Vosloo, Cynthia Stevenson, Daniel Roebuck, Darrell Hammond, and Martin Donovan. (102 minutes, 2003)
Thieves like Us: 3 black sheep flee from jail in’30s south and go on a binge. The youngest (Carradine) falls in love with an easy, ignorant gal (Duvall). In spite of recognizable trappings, Altman digs deeply into period environment and hefty characterizations. This film gets better every time you watch it. Cast includes Keith Carradine, Shelley Duvall, John Schuck, Bert Remsen, Louise Fletcher, Ann Latham, and Tom Skerritt. (123 minutes,’87)
Down in the Delta: With her life a mess and essentially no desire to work, lone mother Woodard boards the bus with her 2 kids to spend the summer in the Mississippi Delta, living with family members and working in their restaurant. Episodic drama recoups from awkward start to better points for utter likability. Woodard beams and Freeman gives one of the best acting jobs of his career. Cast includes Alfre Woodard, Al Freeman, Jr., Wesley Snipes, Mary Alice, Esther Rolle, and Loretta Devine. (111 minutes,’98)

Train Trips from San Francisco
November 30, 2009 by Colin Jones
One of the greatest things about staying in San Francisco is the close proximity to some incredible attractions. You can stay in one city but visit several. You get not only the conveniences of the city, but the beauty of nature is not far away from almost any point within the city. In fact, a short train ride will take you quickly to some nearby attractions that are definitely worth checking out.
One of the first train trips I want to talk about is not only a train trip but a bus and train tour. This tour goes from San Francisco to Yosemite Park. This excursion requires transfers back and forth from bus to train but offers some stunning scenery and the ability to get pleasure from it without the anxiety of driving, rest stops and the need to stretch your legs.
Sometimes a little inconvenience is worth a lot more convenience later in your trip. The train portion of the tour lasts about three hours and you get to spend three hours in Yosemite. For some it is not worth the hassle and for others it is just what the doctor ordered – time to rest and relax while on the way. This is by far the most complicated of the train tours heading out of San Francisco.
The second trip is to wine country. The beauty of these tours is in the fact that you can take pleasure in your wine tasting event without the anxiety of who is going to drive. Everyone in your party can get pleasure from the outing equally. Even more than that however, is that many companies have made the train ride itself more the event than the wine tasting.
With pastimes such as four course meals and Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre for your enjoyment it is no surprise that this has become an occasion of choice for many visitors to San Francisco. Although this may be a more than moderately pricey alternative, it is well worth the expense. You can always cut overheads elsewhere in San Francisco to make up for the expense.
Roaring Camp Railroads provides two train rides that are both equally tempting in hugely different ways. The first is a trip back in time. This is almost certainly my favorite. On this excursion you travel to the top of Bear Mountain while listening to yarns about Roaring Camp’s part. This train tour lasts for an hour and is great fun, particularly for the little ones.
The second offering by Roaring Camp Railroads is the Beach Train, which will take you to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The round trip from Roaring Camp to Santa Cruz and back is about three hours and well worth every penny if you have a budding engineer among your children.
Perhaps the most magical of train excursions is the Christmas Train tour from Oakdale. This trip includes Santa, his elves and a little Christmas magic. What more could you ask for? Well, I suppose that that depends on whether you made the naughty list or the nice list. This train ride is magic for everyone that joins it, young and old alike will get pleasure from the magic that only Christmas can bring.
Whether you are a big kid, a little kid, or somewhere in between, I am ready to wager that the magic of a train ride has not been totally lost over the years. In fact, I am willing to bet that if you allow yourself to sit back and just enjoy yourself, you will enjoy the journey as much as the destination.
Owen Jones, the writer of this article, writes on a lot of subjects, but is currently occupied with American Flyer Train Sets. If you would like to know more about train sets for kids, please go over to our website for some great offers.

Protected Watching Of Films On The Internet For Maximum Pleasure

If you do a search for free movies online, you will see scores of new sources for movie membership websites. This is evidence that the demand for accessing movies online is growing by leaps and bounds. No longer are you limited to the selections of our local video rental store.
Typically, the internet gives you access to three kinds of movies websites. The first category can bee characterized as the traditional rental outlets. These are the ones you are accustomed to such as Hollywood Video and Blockbuster. Over the past three years they have made internet movie renting much easier.
Free movie sites are another category and offer great movies and films such as biographies and historical documentaries. Most likely, you will not find top movie hits on these websites. They are designed to give you access to a dataset of movies and films that have expired copyrights.
The membership sites that require a paid monthly fee are usually your best choice. Along with your monthly membership fee, you get access to their entire database of movies. These sites not only have premium movies and games, but they also give away quality software packages to help you download and burn your movies to disc.
Your decision to join a movie membership site will be based on what is more important to you. While some may like the convenience of not having to travel across town to a local rental store, others may love having digital access to unlimited movies. Travelers typically like having access to movies on their laptops while staying in hotels.
People everywhere are tempted at the notion of free movies. Consequently, thousands of people have had the unfortunate experience of having to rid their computers of viruses, worms and Trojans. Aside from malicious computer scripts and corrupt files, you are likely to download spyware and adware with free movie sites.
The spyware and adware that often accompanies free movie files are loaded with pop-ups that affect your browsing ability and slow down your computer. They are hard to get rid of. Cleaning your computer often requires a robust anti spyware program. It is really not worth it.
To get the most enjoyable experience, I recommend that you join a paid movie membership site. These sites offer quality movie downloads and provide excellent customer service. They operate very professionally and have the technological infrastructure in place to ensure that you never download corrupt movie files.

Unearth 5 Great Movie Opinions For You To Choose From
November 29, 2009 by David Salinas
There are lots of ways to download movies straight to your computer. When you do a search for movie downloads you will come up with many results and you can hit upon some good sites. You will also come across a few that are providing at no cost motion pictures to download.
In Enemy Country – Average WW2 story, set in France and England, filmed on a back-lot. Not very persuading. Cast includes Tony Franciosa, Anjanette Comer
Sexy Beast – A retired British hoodlum, living the life in Spain, is visited by a violent gangster who wants him to work one more heist. Trendy, aggressive, current day gangster’s film has exceptional acting containing a special performance by Kingsley as the malevolent perpetrator. Cast includes Ray Winstune, Ben Kingsley, Ian McShane, Cavan Kendall, Julianne White, Alvaro Monje, and James Fox. (88 minutes, 2001)
Vertical Limit – Peter Garett, an ex mountain climber who gave the sport up after his father died disastrously while climbing, finds himself in a difficult situation. His sister and climbing partner have been trapped in a deep ravine while attempting to climb the famous K2 peak. He is one of the only people capable of even trying a near impossible rescue. Time is of the essence, as the trapped climbers will soon freeze to death.
From Nashville with Music – Some excellent country and western music, although one would be better served to purchase one of the actors’ albums rather than agonizing through this account of a New York couple who go to the Grand Ole Opry unintentionally. Cast includes Marilyn Maxwell, Leo G. Carroll, Pedro Gonzalez, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, and Buck Owens. (87 minutes,’69)
Frontier Hellcat – Another Karl Winnetou story, which seizes the flavor of the Old West in the journey of pioneers passing through the Rockies. Cast includes Stewart Granger, Elke Sommer, Pierre Brice, and Gotz George. (98 minutes,’66)
Another point you should to understand is that the services are creating a profit by some means. If they are actually providing the films absolutely for free, then they are most likely adding spyware or adware along with the without charge movie so that they can make some money.
There are many free sites for acquiring a movie download, there are also sites that cost so much per film. Amazon features a number of of these but for more information about dvd movie download your at the right site. Also there are many people who download movie illegitimately, which is never suggested, but it happens. Be sure that the site you download your movie from is one where you’re doing it lawfully.
Beat Maker Software
November 29, 2009 by Mickey Roukeayeal

If you want to make hiphop beats or techno beats or anything in between, then you will need some beat maker software. This is specialised software used to help make the fattest beats in the shortest amount of time. Let me be extremely express about this point because this is very important.
during the past, you needed to buy an expensive computer, a costly hard-drive, an expensive hardware package and a pricey software package just so you might throw together a descent beat. But that was not all. To mix the beat, you had to have a large amount of experience with mixing down multiple tracks and making them all sound good and…and…well you get the picture.
in the past few years, new software has been developed by various companies that let you access their beat makers online . Not only that, but you get to access it without any hardware, any downloaded software and you also have access to a library of different beat maker sounds, like hi-hats, drum sounds, bass sounds, piano parts and more.
The most fantastic part is that all this is going to be under $50. That’s's pretty extraordinary considering that just a few years back you had to spend a lot, and not only that, learn the way to use the equipment you simply purchased. These new beat maker software programs are so straightforward to use that you just sign-in and get to work.
The best part is that you will be making beats in mere mins. Now understand that I am not saying this is the end-all be-all of beat making. There are beat maker programs out there that are very dear and worth every penny. But unless you are Kanye West or Dr. Dre, I suggest you start little and think big.
The more point I need to make is that beat software isn’t going to make the musician. In fact it’s typically the other way around. In other words, you can’t get your talent. You either have it or you don’t, so the simplest way to find out if you have what it takes to make a solid rap or hip-hop beat is to focus on a straightforward program that will allow you to do what you do best, which hopefully is make a solid beat.
Get known the top music production software for creating best quality music and learn how to make music easily and quickly.

The list below has some good movie reviews. To find movie downloads do a search. You should have good luck with a search like “Top DVD Movie Rentals”; if not then try “Movie Downloading” and “Buy Movie Download”.
Foxes: Foxes is about 4 teenaged gals try dealing with the normal ?not in our town? complications carried by growing up in San Fernando Valley. Adept cast and evidently genuine motives are sabotaged by rough storyline that just isn’t gripping enough. Cast includes Jodie Foster, Cherie Currie, Marilyn Kagan, Kandice Stroh, Scott Baio, Sally Kellerman, Randy Quaid, and Lois Smith. (106 minutes,’80)
Heartburn: Nora Ephron adjusted her own most popular (and autobiographical) novel in regards to an elderly couple whose matrimony appears just fine till she sees he’s been cheating when she’s pregnant! Lightweight, shallow tale is supercharged by 2 charismatic megastars, which make it a must see. Cast includes Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson: Jeff Daniels, Maureen Stapleton, Stockard Channing, Richard Masur, Catherine O’Hara, Steven Hill, Milos Forman, Karen Akers, Anna Maria Horsford, Mercedes Ruehl, Joanna Gleason, Yakov Smimoff, Kevin Spacey, and Natasha Lyonne. (108 minutes,’86)
La Petit Lili: A family’s country house is charged with sentiment while the hotheaded child, a yearning film maker actor, finds that his lady friend is captivated with his mom’s boyfriend, a triumphant head of mainstream films. Brilliant film empowered by Chekhov’s The Seagull, investigating the line between art and life, and how the 2 influence each other. Cast includes Nicole Garcia, Bernard Giraudeau, Jean-Pierre Marielle, Ludivine Sagnier, Robinson Steveniu, Julie Depardieu, Yves Jacques, and Michel Piccoli. (104 minutes, 2003)
The Guru: Harmless comedy in reference to an Indian dance professor (Mistry) who comes to America desiring popularity and fortune in the movie industry. As an alternative, he lands a job in a porno film, is befriended by its gorgeous megastar (who’s truly a “good girl” leading a triple life), then accidentally becomes a star as the “expert of sex.” Some ludicrous gags, a likable leading guy, and excellent joke performances by Graham and Tomei improve this choppy feel-good flick. Cast includes Cast includes Heather Graham, Marisa Tomei, Jimi Mistry, Michael McKean, Christine Baranski, Rob Morrow, Emil Marwa, Malachy McCourt, Ajay Naidu, and Anita Gillette. (91 minutes, 2003)
The Fox: Pleasantly created story of lesbians Dennis and Heywood, and what occurs when a third party ( Dullea) gets involved. The movie was filmed in Canada. Cast includes Sandy Dennis, Keir Dullea, Anne Heywood, and Glyn Morris. (110 minutes,’68)
The Fog: A thick haze from the Pacific hangs over a Northwest seaside village, bringing with it murderous and vengeful ghosts. A lame redo of John Carpenter’s’80 film modifies the structure but does not improve on the first edition. Cast includes Tom Welling, Maggie Grace, Selma Blair, DeRay Davis, Kenneth Welsh, Adrian Hough, Sara Botsford, and Rade Sherbedgia. (100 minutes, 2005)
Commandos: Stereotype-filled war drama with typical structure; Italian commandos, led by a few stalwart Americans, need to secure a vital retreat in the North African desert before Allied landings. Cast includes Lee Van Cleef, Jack Kelly, Giampiero Albertini, Marino Marie, Pierre Paulo Capponi, and Duilio Del Prete. (89 minutes,’64)
Lilo and Stitch: Forlorn Hawaiian gal being brought up by her older sibling finds a doubtful buddy at the dog pound an alien whom she names Sew. In the mean time, people from Stitch?s world have arrived in this to recover the damaging little creature. Gorgeous watercolor surroundings are simply spectacular. Cast includes Voices of Daveigh Pursue, Christopher Michael Sanders, Tia Carrere, Kevin McDonald, Ving Rhames, David Ogden Stiers, Zoe Caldwell, Jason Scott Lee, and Kevin Michael Richardson. (85 minutes, 2002)
Rhapsody in August: Average (by his own estimations) little Kurosawa is a piece in reference to the hurtful memories of a Japanese woman who recollects the bombing of Nagasaki at the end of WW2. Gere, in a hyped up cameo, doesn’t appear too out of place as a Japanese American member of the old lady’s lengthened family. Cast includes Sachiko Murase, Richard Gere, and Narumi Kayashima. (98 minutes,’91)
Remember, nearly any film you can think of can be downloaded off the web these days. As we said before, search with “Online DVD Rental Service”, or “Top 100 Movie Rentals” to find good information on downloading. Add “Download DVD Movies” to the list if the other searches don’t work for you.
